More and more of us are looking for peace and calm and in our crazy-busy lives. In a recent study by the American Psychological Association, 75% of adults reported experiencing moderate to high levels of stress in the past month and nearly half reported that their stress has increased in the past year. Numerous reports estimate that over 85% of primary care physician visits are due to stress-related causes.
Positive psychology is the study of happiness. Psychology traditionally has focused on mental illness or other psychological problems and how to treat them. Positive psychology, by contrast is a relatively new field that examines how ordinary people can become happier and more fulfilled.
This presentation will provide an overview of the research related to living well in stressful times and interventions for health/wellness and happiness.
